United Kingdom 3rd Quarter of 2015 and YTD
U.K. numbers are still preliminary but indicate another leap forward plug-in vehicle sales. Market share continues slightly below 1 %, and should continue like that until the end of the year. The third quarter saw a decrease in growth, to just 30 %, but with the redesigned Mitsublishi Outlander PHEV coming in the last quarter on the year, expect the market to resume a triple-digit growth, with this year total volume expected to double (28.000 units) regarding last year result.
PHEV's hold on to the lead
Sales of plug-in hybrids, driven by the success of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, continue to outnumber pure electrics. If in 2014, 47 % of plug-in sales were PHEV's, 2015, their share has risen to 63 %, with good prospects of growing even further in Q4.
Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV runs without competition
As usual, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and the Nissan Leaf lead the charts by a wide margin, with the first owning 47 % of the market and the second 24 %. Good performance from the Volkswagen Golf GTE, rising to Third, with its VAG cousin, the Audi A3 e-Tron also in a good Fourth place.
